Oceaneers Futsal League is accepting applications for its first indoor session, which will be held at CCRI in Lincoln on Sundays starting Nov. 25. Teams will be accepted in boys and girls divisions from under-10 through adult.divisions. The entry fee is $450 per team. Futsal is the format of small-sided soccer that is recognized and supported by FIFA and UEFA with world and European championships. The U.S. Futsal Federation holds regional and national championships.
The teams play five on a side with smaller goals and a smaller ball with a reduced bounce. Players are constantly placed in situations where they must play under pressure or in confined spaces. It places a considerable demand on the development of techniques, movement, tactical awareness and fitness.
