The Malta Independent OnlineMalta to take partin Futsal World Cup During the recent MFA Council meeting, it was confirmed that Malta will be taking part in the forthcoming Futsal World Cup.
They were drawn in a preliminary group with Slovenia, Greece and Albania. Matches will be played between the end of January and beginning of February 2008.
Meanwhile, Malta placed 137th in the latest FIFA rankings.
In the UEFA list the Under 19 team was in the 48th position, while the U-17s were placed 39th.
These UEFA placings were based on a coefficient worked out over the last three seasons.
