Coast boys on list for futsal trip to Chile

Three Chancellor State College lads are in for the trip of a lifetime next year.

The boys – James Verdin, Blake Shergold and Caleb Urlich – have been selected in the Australasian under-13 futsal side to tour Chile and Argentina next June/July.

The boys were selected following outstanding performances for Chancellor State College at the recent Australasian Champion of Champions tournament at Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast.

Chancellor Park finished runners-up in the tournament, losing to football excellence school Cavendish Road in the final.

In a part of the world where football is a religion, next year’s tour will be an ideal learning curve for the boys.

But at a cost of $6,000 each, the trip doesn’t come cheaply.

The boys are on the look out for some financial help to get them to Chile next year.
