UEFA.comRussia goal for futsal fledglingsThursday 6 December 2007Russia will host the finals of the first UEFA European Under-21 Futsal Tournament next winter – and 28 nations will enter the qualifying round draw next Thursday at 14.00 CET.
DrawThe contenders will be drawn into seven groups, each containing one team from each category of seeds, based on their senior teams' results between 2002 and 2005. Spain, Italy, Slovenia, Hungary, Poland, Andorra and F.Y.R. Macedonia will stage the mini-tournaments between 7-13 April 2008, and will also be kept apart while retaining their respective seeding. Represented for the first time in a national team futsal tournament are the Republic of Ireland and Switzerland. The seven group winners will join the hosts in the finals in St. Petersburg, provisionally scheduled for 6-14 December.
