Au Bangsar, KIFA FC emerge champs

KIFA FC players who beat D'Sharo in a penalty shootout in the Girls Under-16 profoundly express their delight.

TEAM 'Au Bangsar' from Kuala Lumpur beat the Melaka All Stars 4-0 in the boys' Under-12 futsal final of the Grow with Sports programme at the Melaka Sports Planet last weekend.

In the girls under-16 category KIFA FC beat D' Sharo in a penalty shootout after regulation time ended scoreless.

The second leg of the programme had attracted a total of 36 teams for the boys and eight for the girls and consisted players of mixed races. There was also good turnout of parents.

Ng Ping Loong, sports marketing manager of Nestle Malaysia-Milo, said "Sports and studies can mix. A healthy body builds a healthy mind but more importantly sports develop good values in children."

Last weekend's programme started with a two-hour coaching clinic conducted by coaches and former Pahang state players followed by a round robin inter-team competition with Milo prizes awarded to the top four teams.

All the children who competed were given free Milo T-shirts, drinks and certificates.

The 3rd leg will be held on Dec 23 at the HTO de Futsal courts in Subang Jaya, Selangor and is open to the first 48 under-12 boys' teams and 12 under-16 girls teams. Entry fee is RM20 per team of eight players and two officials.

Entry forms are available from www.milo.com.my, www.syoknyafutsal.com.my or at the venue.
