Johor Buzz: Futsal court in Taman Rinting

2007/12/21

FUTSAL lovers residing in Taman Rinting and neighbouring areas have something to cheer about this festive season.

Recently, the Johor Baru City Council (MBJB) opened an indoor futsal court in Jalan Balau here, which can be rented by the public at a reasonable price.

Its public relations officer, Firdaus Abdul Hamid, said the futsal court cost about RM100,000 and it reflected MBJB's commitment to promote a healthy lifestyle in the city.

"The council charges a reasonable rate of RM50 per hour for adults and RM40 for students.

"The courts will be made available to the public from 5pm till midnight on weekdays.
"On Sundays, the courts are available from 2pm till midnight.

"There will be an additional charge of RM20 for adults, while the booking price for students stays unchanged," he said.

Firdaus said that response had been encouraging and the council was likely to go ahead with similar projects in other housing areas.

"We have built many open-air futsal courts before, so this indoor futsal venue provides another alternative for the sports lover in the area," he added.

To make bookings or for enquiries, call MBJB at 07-2271050.
