From January 14th to 18th 2008, Georgian Futsal National Team will take part in the International futsal tournament scheduled in Baku, Azerbaijan, as reported on the national newspapers by the GFA General Secretary Beka Kvitsiani.

Having talked with AFFA futsal Coordinator Mr. Khudiev, the Georgian Futsal Committee was informed about the Russian renounce to take part in the tournament, and accepted to replace them in the international event.

"We'd like to thank GFF General Secretary Mr. UGULAVA and AFFA General Secretary Mr. MAMEDOV for their collaboration" declared GFA General Secretary.

We have to remind that the Baku futsal tournament should now therefore feature the National teams of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan and Georgia.

Talking about the Under 21 UEFA European Futsal Tournament draw, Kvitsiani told: "We know that the Slovenian team is the predictable winner of our group, but that will represent a great experience for our future in the youth category. Also, in January we should announce a double friendly match between the Under 21 selections of Georgia and Ireland".

Georgia Under 21 will take part in the Group 1 (to be played in Slovenia) of the UEFA tournament qualifiers, together with the hosting country squad, Belgium and Bulgaria.
