Gen Pro beat Jalinan MBMB to come out tops in futsal event

GEN Pro A of Selangor emerged champions of the boys' Under-12 event after beating Jalinan MBMB of Malacca 2-1 in the Selangor leg of the Milo Grow with Sports futsal clinic at the HTO de Futsal in Subang last Saturday.

In the girls' Under-16, The White Elves defeated MC Queen 1-0 in a keenly contested final.

A total of 50 teams competed in the boys' Under-12 while there were 12 teams in the girls' Under-16. Both categories also drew teams from Johor, Perak and Negri Sembilan.

The programme began with a two-hour coaching clinic by qualified coaches and former Selangor state players followed by a round robin competition.

"Sports and studies should mix as a healthy body builds a healthy mind. Most important is sports develop good values in children and the courage to face the challenges in life with confidence," said Nestle sports marketing manager Ng Ping Loong.

The final Milo futsal clinic of the year will be held in Alor Star on Saturday.

It is open to the first 36 teams for the boys' Under-12 event and the first 12 teams for the girls' Under-16.

Entry fee is RM20 per team consisting eight players and two officials.
