Lagenda FC National Cage Futsal Champions

KUALA TERENGGANU, Dec 29 (Bernama) -- Terengganu's Lagenda FC were crowned champions of the inaugural TM Cage Futsal Carnival 2007 after they edged favourites Chilis FC from Johor Baharu 1-0 in a tense final during the carnival's Grand Finals at Dataran Shahbandar here today.

Lady Merc FC of Kuala Terengganu won the women's open category while the under-17 category was won by Funny Soccer FC from Shah Alam. Pendang Kids FC from Kedah emerged champions in the Under 12 category.

A total of 53 teams took part in the Grand Finals, which drew some 10,000 fans including the Tengku Sri Temenggong Raja of Terengganu.

Other than Telekom Malaysia, the carnival was supported by the Education Ministry and the state governments of Selangor, Johor, Kedah and Terengganu and a host of sponsors.
