One more edition of the prestigious Liga Futsal is going to start soon in Brazil. After the absolute dominium of the catarinense Malwee/Jaraguà in the 2007 tournament, once again 20 clubs will fight for the title.

After missing the last two tournaments (leaving its place to Cabio Frio in 2006 and Teresopolis in 2007) Vasco Da Gama will come back on the main futsal stage, having obtained the financial support of the USS university. This will determine the absence of the paranaense club Diplomata/Muffatão/DalPonte from the incoming edition.

As communicated by CBFS just a little change will characterize the Liga Futsal 2008 formula, as after the second stage (again splitted into two groups of 6 teams) the final part of the tournament will also feature the quarter finals series: that means the qualification for the best four clubs of the second stage respective groups (instead of two from each group as happened until the past season).
