St George & Sutherland Shire LeaderTears to cheersTHE under-6 Minnie Roos lost one game during the Football NSW Futsal competition at Rockdale to win the premiership with smiles on their faces.
Coach Robert Geroski took charge of the seven children, none of whom had previously played a game of football in their life.
"[Coaching] is harder than I thought actually," said Geroski, whose son Daniel was part of the team.
"Most of [the children] are keen on playing football but when they first started some of them were crying and others didn't want to play. To get to the point where we are now is pretty good."
So, does Geroski think his squad contains potential Socceroo players? "There may be quite a few actually," Geroski said.
