Chinese Taipei Semi-Professional Futsal League Since AFC has announced it's annual Asian Futsal Club Competition will start from 2009, there has been some activity to create a
Chinese Taipei Futsal League.
The first step was taken on February 16th, when a preliminary meeting was held at the
TAIPEI FUTSAL ASSOCIATION to exchange ideas about a semi-professional Futsal Leaue in Taiwan.
Representatives of
CTFA (Chinese Taipei Football Association),
TPFA (Taipei Futsal Association),
DA-TUNG Team (Mr. CHANG MU-DZAI),
SCSC Team (Mr. FATIH KALE),
Bei-Tou Team,
PAN-GU BANK Team,
LeeTai Sport News Agency,
Thai-Chung City Football Association,
Ping-Dong County Football Association and a couple of Marketing Professionals have participated in the meeting.
Meeting was opened with the speech of
TPFA president Mr.Chang Chao-Lu followed by an informative introduction of the proposed league by the
CTFA ex-General Secretary Mr.Chang Chang-Wei (who was the head of 2004 FIFA W.C'ship Organizing Commitee).
The idea and the need of the league is accepted by all the participants, but there is a sticking point with the CTFA. Since CTFA is the only representative of FIFA in Taiwan, the league normaly must have the approval of CTFA.
However, Mr.Chang Chao-Lu's argument is that, in the absence of a CTFA Futsal League, a league organized by Chinese Taipei Futsal Association should be legitimate.
Overall, the meeting was a very positive event and a date for second meeting has been decided (March.15).
The details of the League will be finalized in this second meeting.
