Report by our Japanese collaborator
Mune KawamotoThe first ever Japanese
F League ended yesterday though the final verdict came on February 3rd, with two rounds still to be played. And it was the expected one, as the only professional japanese club,
Nagoya Oceans, was crowned with the first historical title. After an hard beginning, culminated with the
Oscar Mazikina's dismission and the
Mario Tateyama appointment, Higa, Maeda, Bola, Morioka, Marquinhos & C. managed to overcome the fierce competition shown by
Bardral Urayasu, side coached by the spanish trainer
Sito Rivera.
The final match lost against Shriker Osaka could not ruin the party, as the title came after the 19th round triumph over Shonan Bellmare, that secured to Nagoya 9 advantage points over Bardral Urayasu.
Reo Yokoe (Pescadola Machida) is the first ever F league topscorer, having scored
21 times during the whole competition.
The
F LEAGUE event was an absolute success, with more than 156 thousands spectators: now everything is ready for the second edition, planned to start on next July 2008.
