UEFA.comBetoon exploit Estonia experienceMonday 18 February 2008There will be two new names in the UEFA Futsal Cup next season after FC Betoon Tallinn and FC Seefeld Zürich took the national titles in Estonia and Switzerland.
Football starsFC Anzhi Tallinn were Estonia's first European entrants this term but had no answer to Betoon's record of 14 wins from as many games, scoring 130 goals in the process. Betoon, who were last season's bronze-medallists in the Baltic state, benefited from an experienced lineup containing former football internationals Kert Haavistu, Igor Prins, Mati Pari, Andre Anis, Raivo Nõmmik, Arvo Kraam and Urmas Kaal.
Seefeld triumphBern was the venue for the Swiss play-offs as Uni Futsal Team Bulle defended their title. Having won through from the quarter-finals, the champions fell 7-5 to NK Tomislavgrad Bern, a team with a strong Croatian influence. However, they were to come unstuck themselves in the final against Seefeld, who having defeated Mobulu Futsal Uni Bern 5-4 and FC Cosmos Genève 6-3, stormed to a 10-3 victory in the decider.
