Futsal season launched in Lebanon

BEIRUT – Lebanon Football Association announced on Wednesday that they have launched the first season of Futsal in Lebanon which will be composed of the league and cup competitions.

The Futsal Cup will kick off on March 18 with the participation of 16 teams and the draw of the first round was made on Wednesday and the fixtures were as the following:

Al Jumhor v CIS
Olympic Saida v Nejmeh
Al Ahed v Al Nadwa
Global University v Salam Zgharta
Lebanese Canadian Bank v Tadamon Beirut
American Embassy v Safa
Brus Café v Al Ansar
AUST v USJ

The league action will kick off on April 15 and the first round fixtures were announced as the following:

USJ v Al Ahed
Safa v AUST
American Embassy v Al Nejmeh
Al Jumhor v Salam Zgharta
Global University v Al Nadwa
Lebanese Canadian Bank v Al Ansar
CIS v Tadamon Beirut
Olympic Saida v Brus Café

Futsal was previously acknowledged through Lebanon Futsal Team who, despite the absence of an organized league, had impressive results in previous AFC Futsal Championships and qualified to the quarter finals in 2007 edition.
