UBD B, Our Team In Futsal Final

Bandar Seri Begawan - UBD B and Our Team advanced last night into the final of the National Futsal Championship organised by BAFA and Brunei Muara District Football Association at the Multi Purpose Hall, Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium Complex.

MBS UTD (Y) and Maulana FT have a chance to grab third spot.

The tournament, marred by surprising exits by tournament favourites, was supposed to end last night, but play was postponed due to the heavy downpour and water seeping into the court.

The final and third place matches will be held at a date to be announced soon.

UBD B beat MBS UTD (Y), by penalty shootout, 4-2, after both teams drew 0-0. UBD B are the tournament favourites to take home the covenant trophy after they upset initial tournament favourites ABDB Futsal, 1-0, in the second round, and beat Com Utd B, tipped to make headways, which UBD B beat 1-0 in the quarterfinals

In the semifinals, Our Team beat Maulana- FT, a team tipped to enter the finals, in a penalty shootout, 4-2, after both teams drew 0-0.

Our Team will not bow down to UBD B as they are an experienced team and are well known in the local futsal circuit. They were the surprise team and were not expected to progress into the finals. On Our Team's road to the finals, they beat Salambigar A in a penalty shootout, 5-4, after drawing 1-1 in the quarterfinals. Our Team beat MJ FC in a penalty shootout, 8-7, after both teams drew 1-1.
