Murcia and Dinamo send messages

Monday 10 March 2008

UEFA Futsal Cup holders MFK Dinamo Moskva and semi-final opponents ElPozo Murcia FS responded to their pairing in the last four by producing fine domestic performances at the weekend but Kairat Almaty are steeling themselves for two fixtures which could cost them their Kazakhstan title.

Murcia win
Final four hosts Dinamo were drawn against Murcia on Thursday for their semi-final on 25 April, and the Spanish champions responded by maintaining their ten-point lead in the División de Honor table the following night with a 5-3 win at another side likely to make the end-of-season play-offs, Azkar Lugo FS. Although Saúl and Ciço's early goals for Duda's side were cancelled out, Vinicius and Saúl made it 4-2 to Murcia at the break and Vinicius added another before a late Azkar consolation. Interviú Fadesa's 11-1 defeat of Leis 26 Pontevedra FS keeps them within sight of Murcia.

Dinamo clear
In Russia, Dinamo are even further clear and remain unbeaten following 9-4 and 5-1 wins against MFK Spartak Shelkovo at the weekend. Their fellow UEFA Futsal Cup semi-finalists MFK Viz-Sinara Ekaterinburg are in second but 16 points adrift as they overcame MFK Dina Moskva 7-1 and 7-2. Ekaterinburg's semi-final opponents Kairat Almaty were not in action but Aktobe BTA's two wins against Arak Aktobe took them nine points clear. Kairat have six games left to Atkobe's four, but if the reigning champions lose twice to their challengers in their double-header next weekend, their title will be relinquished.
