Brunei DirectBrunei Face Qatar Today In Futsal Qualifiers By
Za'im Zaini Bandar Seri Begawan - The Brunei National Futsal team left yesterday for the AFC Asian Futsal Championship Qualifications in Kuala Lumpur where they have been drawn into group B which also comprises Kuwait, Indonesia, Macau and Qatar.
Brunei are represented by a strong team of 12 players, namely, Rozalani Hamzani Bin Hj Abd Latif (goalkeeper), Saifulrizal Bin Arbi (goalkeeper) Sumardi Bin Hj Mohd Taib, Ak Asrul Asdynee bin Pg Sahdon, Ediruslan Bin Hj Abdul Samad, Jasriman Bin Hj Omar, Ak Mohammad Sharul, Bin Pg Metussin, Noor Raimi Bin Karim, Faizul Jefry Bin Awang Hj Zaini, Ranozakhran Bin Tajudin, Mohammad Khirol Effendi Bin Yussof and captain Ak Mohammad Shahril bin Pg Hj Ismail.
However, missing from the line-up are two key players that were part of the team which won the gold medal at the previous Borneo Games.
Brunei face Qatar today (March 26, 2008), Kuwait on March 27, Indonesia on March 28 and their final game is against Macau on March 30.
All matches will be played at the Matsushita Sports Complex, Shah Alam, Selangor Darul Ehsan, and Malaysia.
The teams are expected to return on March 31, 2008.
