CONCACAF.comTrinidad & Tobago capture Caribbean Futsal Title6.4.08 - The hosts, Trinidad & Tobago captured their second consecutive CFU (Caribbean Football Union) Futsal Title after defeating Haiti by a score of 6:3 in the 2008 Final at the Canedo Hall in Macoya on Sunday.
Two goals by Colin Joseph and one each from Brent Antoine, Jerwyn Balthazar, Colin Joseph, Sterlin OBrien and Kevin Peters led the Soca Warriors to the victory over the Les Bicolores. Trinidad & Tobago had previously won the CFU crown in 2004.
In the third place match at the CFU Tournament, three goals by Gino Brandon helped Surinam to a 7:3 triumph over Guyana.
Haiti and Trinidad & Tobago had already qualified to the 2008 CONCACAF Futsal Championship and will join Costa Rica, Cuba, Mexico, Panama, USA and the host, Guatemala at the CONCACAF event at the Domo Polideportivo in Guatemala City from 2-8 June.
The CONCACAF Championship will also progress three teams to the 2008 FIFA Futsal World Cup in Brazil from 30 September 19 October.
