Young WitnessYoung PCYC Futsal grand final night LAST Thursday the junior futsal grand finals were played with all three grades displaying a high level of skill and all were very competitive finals.
In the division 3 final MGM were too strong for the Jets with a 7-2 result with Mitchell Cameron striking home four the goals, and for the Jets, Sam McIllhatton scored both their goals. Both teams had a lot more chances and some very close calls in front of the goals. Both teams displayed an awesome amount of team work and skill.
In division 2 only one goal was scored in an absolute corker of a grand final. The scores were deadlocked well into the second half with extra time looking to be the way to separate both teams, until Jordan Sims for Main Game struck home a late shot to take the lead with only minutes to go.
Ghetto Smurfs fought to the final whistle and were certainly unlucky not to equalise as the match finished. Well done to Main Game and Ghetto Smurfs for playing out a fantastic grand final.
In the division 1 final the BJC Boys came out firing snaring two quick goals with some of their best team work of the season. Sold Ya Kittens to their credit replied with the goal of the game to Will Muir but again the BJC boys scored shortly before half time, to lead 3-1 at the break. Sold Ya Kittens again scored shortly into the second half to bring the score to 3-2 by the BJC boys were not going to allow the final to slip from their grasp with two further goals to Blake Wilder and Ben Noakes to take a commanding five goals to lead with minutes to play. Sold Ya Kittens never gave up with Justin Roberts netting one for the team. The final score was 5-3.
To all the boys and girls who played in the futsal competition a big thank you from the Young PCYC and we hope all of you have improved your individual and team skills over the course of the competition and wish you all well in the upcoming soccer season.
Futsal will recommence at the end of the soccer season and after the response this year and the amount of involvement by all we are hoping for a bigger and stronger competition next season.
Draw for seniors this Thursday April 10.
