Ball Buster are opening leg champions

BALL Buster emerged champions of the opening leg of the Milo Under-16 Hidup Bola Futsal Carnival with a thrilling 5-3 win over Sijankang Jaya FC (SJFC ) at the HTO De Futsal Centre in Subang Jaya on Sunday.

A total 128 teams competed with Misai FC beating Teleflow FC 2-1 to finish third.

The top four teams qualified for the Grand Finals on July 27.

The four teams won prize money of RM1,000, RM800, RM600 and RM500 respectively. They also received Milo Hidup Bola commemorative futsal balls and a set of jerseys and balls from Figos, the official ball of the event.

This year's Grand Finals promise to be a thriller as the champions will win a five-day all expenses paid trip to Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United.

During their stay, the winning team will train at United's academy.

Milo sports marketing manager Ng Ping Loong said he was overwhelmed with the response to the first leg.

"It is fantastic and I expect this to be a common feature in the remaining 13 legs. Teams are advised to register early," said Ping Loong.

The second leg is at the Sports Planet in Ipoh on Saturday.
