To Dimitri…

This day will always be a sad one from now on. A day that will always bring to mind a friend who is not with us when he should. Dimitri’s passing has left a mark on me, maybe more so than I thought. A few days earlier our team Platon qualified for the Cup final and I could not help think of him every time we scored. Wish you were here with us. To celebrate. To see your boys achieve. To be a part of the celebration. His statute has always been one of respect, one of devotion, a faithful follower of the sport. I can not say we always saw eye to eye with Dimitri, we always had our disagreements, but it is so very rare to find a man as devoted to his passions as Dimitri Nicolaou. His family, his life, his futsal. And this has won my respect since the day we met. I have so many thoughts today, so many things I would like to say, but it would not sound the same when it comes to writing them. So I will keep them to myself. And remember him the way he wanted. For those who didn’t know Dimitri you will probably wonder, who this guy was. Well he WAS and more…
