Indonesian futsal squad seeks fifth place in Asian Cup

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian futsal squad has set itself the target of securing the fifth best position in the finals of the Asian Futsal Cup 2008, the team`s chef de mission said.

"We also promise them a bonus," Agung Nugroho said on Tuesday night.

The final round of the Asian Futsal Cup will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, on May 11-18.

In the event, Indonesia will play in Group A along with the team of the host country, Kyrgistan and Iraq.

The final round of the Asian Futsal Cup will be participated in by 16 teams and the two best of each group will proceed to the eighth round.

Four best teams in the event will represent the Asian region in the World Futsal Cup 2008 in Brazil.

Group A:
1. Kyrgystan
2. Thailand
3. Iraq
4. Indonesia


Grup B
1. Japan
2. Australia
3. Turkmenistan
4. Taiwan


Grup C
1. Uzbekistan
2. Lebanon
3. South Korea
4. Malaysia


Grup D
1. Iran
2. Tajikistan
3. China
4. Kuwait.
