Tobago NewsFutsal clinic at Scarborough SecondaryFriday, May 2nd 2008The facilitators for the Clinic are Clayton Morris and the National Futsal team that recently won the Caribbean Qualifying tournament.
The Clinic is a forerunner to the hosting of a Futsal tournament on May 21 at a venue to be announced.
The tournament is the brainchild of the Paradise Hockey Club who recognised the potential for the game on the island and realised that it could be a viable fund-raising venture.
The Club has to fund an enormous budget annually to participate in the Trinidad and Tobago Hockey Board competitions.
The Tobago Football Association has given its blessing to the project and president Harvey Jack told the Tobago News that they will be working closely with the Club to ensure the tournament is a success.
Futsal is the latest addition to the football family and is usually played in an enclosed area, preferably an indoor facility. It is becoming very popular as goals are more easily scored, players are forced to improvise their skill level because of the small area and it is very exciting and entertaining.
