Edge Hill hosts a special Futsal competition

EDGE Hill was the venue for a football tournament of a different kind.

Girls from six secondary schools in the Ormskirk area took part in a Futsal competition organised by University students.

With eight players in a team, girls from Glenburn Sports College, Up Holland, Lathom, Our Lady Queen of Peace, St Bedes and Ormskirk all took part in a day with a difference.

The day was run by a group of events management students at Edge Hill University as part of their studies.

Futsal is essentially an indoor version of the 11-a-side game and is played with a heavier ball which has much less bounce than the standard football.
