Futsal: Special treat in store for EURO '08 fans

MALAYSIAN futsal fans are in for 'special' treat.

The European Union Malaysia Chamber of Commerce & Industry (EUMCCI) will be organising the 'Carlsberg EURO Futsal 2008' which will be held at the Sports Planet in Jalan Ampang on June 6-7.

Teams made up from all European, diplomatic, corporate and social communities, and Malaysian government agencies will be competing in the event which will have 24 teams and 300 players and officials.

The event will culminate in style as all players, officials and guests will get the chance to see the EURO 2008 opening match between Switzerland and the Czech Republic live at Genting World Resort.

"The European Championship is one of the most important and recognised tournaments of the sporting world every four years. I am sure Malaysian fans will have great time watching this event," said Marco Winter, the events director of EUMCCI.

The 'Carlsberg EURO Futsal 2008' is endorsed by the embassies of Switzerland and Austria who are co-hosting the event.
