National champions

Hull Futsal Vikings were crowned national U10s Futsal champions at the FA Umbro Futsal Festival.
The team included Driffield boys Liam Borla-Tridon and George Watts.

After winning through the regional heat at the University of Sheffield they matched themselves against the cream of the 5-a-side game from around the country. The weekend saw almost 100 junior teams descend on the English Institute Of Sport in Sheffield.

Vikings won through the initial league stage and then beat Hexham from Northumberland in the quarter final 3-0. Victory pitted them against Shrewsbury in the semi final, where they won with Liam Borla-Tridon amongst the goal scorers. A massive Final encounter with Humber rivals Grimsby FC ended with Vikings 2-1 winners after being a goal down.

The FA representatives at the event commented on how impressed they had been with the lads’ technical ability and desire.
