Patricio KnaudtAGBU BUENOS AIRES FUTSAL CHAMPIONS The main futsal team of
AGBU Buenos Aires conquered the title at the XVIII World Games of the Armenian community, that took place in the Uruguayan capital city from the 7th to 13th of July. In the final match, the squad coached by Carlos Kapelian beat 5-2 Montevideo, with five goals by Cristian Ekizian, leading scorer of the team that plays the Argentinian league. The team list included many of the players who take part in the 2nd Division AFA Championship, such as the goalkeeper Ignacio Ohanian, Federico Kidjekouchian, Matías Anokian, Pablo Mavilian, Raffi Mavilian, and the historical captain Sebastián Leblebidjian, who said:
"The truth is that we played really well during the whole tournament. In the final, the local team had the attendance support, but we managed to catch the gold medal". The third place went to AGBU Córdoba, also from Argentina.

1st round: 6-4 vs. Córdoba (Argentina)
2nd round: 6-1 vs. Los Angeles (USA)
3rd round: 1-1 vs. Montevideo "B" (Uruguay)
4th round: 11-3 vs. Buenos Aires "C" (Argentina)
Final: 5-2 vs. Montevideo "A" (Uruguay)
The Futsal tournament also registered the presence of the AGBU Buenos Aires "B" Team, formed by the U-21 squad which plays in the AFA League, that ended with a single win and two defeats.
