FAM To Introduce National Futsal League By Year End

PETALING JAYA, July 18 (Bernama) -- The FA of Malaysia (FAM) will introduce a national futsal league by the end of the year.

FAM's futsal and beach football committee chairman, Hamidin Mohd Amin said the league, to be known as the Felda-FAM Futsal League, would have Felda as its main sponsor.

"For the 2008/2009 season, it will have 24 men's and 24 women's teams. The season will most likely be from November to February," he told reporters at Wisma FAM here Friday.

He said its format would be similar to the Malaysian Soccer League and have three prizes, namely the League Cup, FA Cup and Malaysia Cup.

He added that Felda and FAM had signed a three-year contract to run the league.
