Grand Finals cast now complete

INTINITY FC and Kami Bukan Kanak Kanak FC were the final two teams to qualify for the Milo Hidup Bola Futsal Carnival Grand Finals from the Pahang leg in Kuantan over the weekend.

Fittingly, the final of the 14-leg carnival saw a record 65 teams competing when only 48 were targeted with Intinity beating Kami Bukan Kanak Kanak 5-0 in the final. Stylo A FC beat Bertam Ulu 1-0 for third place.

The top four teams won RM1,000, RM800, RM600 and RM500 respectively. They also received Milo Hidup Bola commemorative futsal balls and a set of jerseys and balls from Figos, the official ball of the event.

Milo Sports Marketing manager Ng Ping Loong said the response for all 14 legs had been overwhelming.

"Teams travelled from across the country to compete in each leg and this is proof of the carnival's popularity and in line with our objective to help develop the game," said Ping Loong.

He expects another solid day of action in Sunday's Grand Finals where 32 teams will do battle at the HTO De Futsal in USJ, Subang Jaya.

The grand prize is a five-day all expenses paid trip to Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United.

Added attractions will be Under-12 boys and girls competitions. Each category will see 24 teams contesting.

Former national skipper Datuk Soh Chin Aun is the guest of honour.
