Solomon Star News3 futsal reps to play for Marist By
ROMULUS HUTA Three national futsal reps are expected to feature for Marist against Papua New Guinea soccer champions Hekari Souths at Lawson Tama next month.
Captain Elliot Ragomo, James Egeta and newcomer Lenson Bisili were the names confirmed for Marist.
Coach Patrick Miniti said they have already sought permission from the national futsal (indoor soccer) team management.
Miniti said the three are all Marist players.
"They are brought up in our School of Excellence,” he said.
National futsal coach Victor Waiia confirmed to Star Sport that they have allowed the trio to play for Marist.
Miniti said they will not use them for whole of the match to help cut the risk of injury.
"We have to be careful. They are currently preparing for the September Futsal World Cup (in Brazil) and we can't just risk their health,” he said.
"Their future is very important."
The national futsal side qualified for Brazil by winning the Oceania championships in Fiji.
Hekari will come here for two matches - against Solympics on 1 August and Marist on 2 August.
This is part of Hekari’s preparation for the 2008/09 regional O league.
