UEFA.comInterviú gear up for European returnTuesday 5 August 2008Two-time UEFA Futsal Cup winners Interviú FS have made big changes this summer as they return to the premier European competition as Spanish champions.
SigningsJesús Candelas, the coach that led Interviú to victory in the 2003/04 and 2005/06 UEFA Futsal Cups as well as last season's Spanish title has departed to be replaced by his former assistant Juan Luis Alonso, who guided Pinto FS to promotion last season. Among their summer signings are Italian international Vinicius Bacaro from arch-rivals ElPozo Murcia FS, Spain players Borja and Ortiz as well as Brazilian international Betão. Jesús Herrero and Juanra have also arrived from Carnicer Torrejón FS while the most notable departures are twins Andreu and Joan to Caja Segovia FS and Azulejos Ramos Talavera FS respectively.
Murcia challengeThe new Spanish season starts on 26 August but there will be an absentee from the top flight with the withdrawal of FS Móstoles 2008 to concentrate on youth development. Murcia, deprived of the title last term and also beaten on penalties by MFK Viz-Sinara Ekaterinburg in the UEFA Futsal Cup final, are out of Europe this season but will aim to win back their domestic crown having signed Marcelo from Azkar Lugo FS to replace Bacaro. Interviú, who have signed a major sponsorship deal with a mobile phone company, enter the UEFA Futsal Cup in November's Elite round with the draw made on 25 September.
