Men’s Futsal action resumes this weekend

THE 2008 Guam Football Association Men’s Futsal League entered week 2 of regular season action this past Saturday with a series of matches held at the Guam Sports Complex in Harmon, according to League Chairperson Muni Abdullah.

Crushers White vs. Community First Deyo
In the first match of the evening, Crushers White put together a good team effort to tally nine goals against Community First Deyo. The Crusher’s A. Karim Albajal completed a hat trick with three goals scored. Albajal’s teammates, Kamal Abdullah and Jesus Leon Guerrero, tacked on two goals a piece, while Ben Mairu and Jon Carl Peterson each scored a goal.

Deyo’s Paul Alger and Arjay Valencia took on offensive responsibilities scoring two goals a piece; however, it wasn’t enough as they fell to the Crushers White squad by a margin of five goals, 9-4.

Yamasa Cobras vs. Inter F.C.
Match two saw the Yamasa Cobras slip past a tough Inter F.C. team that saw five of their players find the back of the goal. Inter F.C.’s Natsuki Recella, Jon Villatora, Jeff Mindo, Shintaro Yamamoto and Kaito Shibuya all scored a goal against the Cobras.

However, Inter F.C. experienced their first regular season loss as the Cobras’ Ashton Surber, Roy Abril and Jan Jason Flores combined for six goals en route to their one point victory, 6-5. Surber led the way for the Cobras with four goals.

Strykers vs. Crushers Orange
The third and final match of the day paired two extremely talented teams, the Strykers and Crushers Orange. The Strykers’ Christian Dickson’s hat trick and two goals from T. Kawaguchi helped to keep their team in contention with the Crushers. Sadly for the Crushers, they inadvertently scored on their own goal that handed a 6-5 win to the Strykers.

In the loss, the Crushers’ Kevin Cruz, Kevin Knaeble and Edwin Cruz scored two, two and one goal, respectively.
