Eddie OsifeloSaturday, 09 August 2008THE Kurukuru national futsal (indoor soccer) team have been given special permission to train in Honiara’s Multipurpose Hall.
Honiara City Council allowed this so as not to disrupt the team’s preparation for the FIFA Futsal World Cup in Brazil next month.
The council closed the hall on Wednesday for what it said was an urgent assessment of repairs needed and to improve hygiene.
The council earlier retook possession of the hall and surrounding areas from National Olympic Committee of Solomon Islands.
It said rent was not paid and the building was not maintained and facilities poor. The hall will be reopened on Wednesday, the council said.
