Brett MaluwelmengAugust 17, 2008As the 2008 GFA Men's Futsal League regular season nears its end, the playoff picture is becoming clearer as the Paintco Strykers, Quality Distributors and Crushers Orange all won to put themselves in the driver's seat for the top three spots.
The Strykers (5-1) ran all over Community First Deyo 16-4 in the season's highest-scoring match to date. Hiro Asoshina and Tatsuya Kawauchi both netted hat tricks, with the former seeing his season goal tally pushed to 17.
The race for the fourth and final spot now heats up as the Yamasa Cobras and Inter FC are even at nine points, with the Cobras owning the tiebreaker. However, the young Cobras team fell to Quality Distributors 7-6 despite Ashton Surber's four goals. Surber leads the league with 22 goals. David Manibusan, Jin Tao and Kiko Santos scored two each to lead Quality.
The other match saw Crushers Orange defeat Crushers White 10-4. Eliseo Zamarron and Aaron Jackson each had a hat trick for Orange (4-2).
