Friendlies prepare for bigger challenges ahead

Aug 15 2008

by Les Stewart, Perthshire Advertiser Friday

THE new season begins with the traditional round of friendly matches to prepare teams for the forthcoming league and cup challenges.

With new teams entering the league this season – in particular the third side from Dundee – the challenge will be as tough as ever as teams strive towards entry to either a national league competition or even the UEFA Futsal Cup.

Teams are reminded that league fees should be paid as soon as possible, as well as deficits from last season.

Apologies to those teams not playing on Monday – there are 20 teams entered this year and preference was given to the new teams.

Fixtures: 6.15 Hydro Hurricanes v Monday Nite Soccer; 6.35 Boca Rebels v Blue Boys; 6.55 Hydro Hurricanes v Perth Brazil; 7.15 Monday Nite Soccer v Boca Rebels; 7.35 Blue Boys v Perth Brazil; 7.55 Hydro Phoenix v Dundee City FC; 8.15 Perth Visitors v San Marino; 8.35 Tartan Army Supporters Club v Dundee City FC; 8.55 North Muirton v Hydro Phoenix; 9.15 San Marino v Perth Visitors; 9.35 Tartan Army Supporters Club v North Muirton

A full fixture list will be issued on Monday evening and via e-mail.
