Kg Jerudong holds final futsal competition

The Kampong Jerudong consultative council, through the Jerudong Football Club, organised its first ever Mukim Sengkurong Futsal Competition themed 'Consistently Active in Practising a Healthy Lifestyle Together'. The closing ceremony of the competition, witnessed the three final matches of the various categories that were held at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.
Present as the guest of honour was Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Mohd Yusof, the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office, who also presented prizes to the winners.

In his opening remark, Haji Mustapa bin Haji Masri, a member of the Kampong Jerudong consultative council said that the competition was one of the annual projects implemented by the consultative council.

The competition, Haji Mustapa added, was one of the consultative council's strategic plans to involve various organisations in conducting activities towards promoting the welfare and deeds of the residents of Mukim Sengkurong.

The competition was divided into three categories, the youth category (16 years and below), the open and the veteran categories (45 years and above). The competition began on August 8, with 18 teams from various villages in Mukim Sengkurong vying for top honours.

In the youth category, the Mulaut team emerged triumphant after defeating the Jerudong 'A' team one-nil. The Jerudong 'B' team came in third place.

In the open category, the Jerudong 'A' team defeated the Kulapis 'B' team with a comfortable margin of three-nil to take the champion's standing, with the Sengkurong B 'Superstar' coming in third.
