Luparense state their claims

Luparense Calcio A/5 stormed into the early lead in UEFA Futsal Main round Group 2 as the first of the six mini-tournament begans in Poland.

Italian joy
The Italian side made their competition debut last year and won all their games without conceding at this stage before bowing out unbeaten in the Elite round despite draws against holders FC Dinamo Moskva and former finalists SL Benfica. And Luparense showed their determination has not dipped as Jairo Manoel, Humberto Honorio, Marcelo Barro and Mauro Canal struck before the break against Preliminary round qualifiers FK Nikars Riga. Arceni Junior Barboza added a fifth early in the second half and in the last eight minutes Rogerio De Oliveira, Jairo Manoel and Adelmo Alexandre Pereira added goals for an 8-0 victory.

Gliwice held
In the day's second game, Polish hosts PA Nova Gliwice played out a 4-4 draw with Serbian side KMF Ekonomac Kragujevac. On Friday, Luparense know a win against Kragujevac would confirm a top-two finish and an Elite round berth while Gliwice take on Nikars. This pool ends on Sunday; the remaining groups start next week.
