US Soccer U.S. National Futsal Team Falls to UNISUL, 6-0, in First Game of Brazilian Tour U.S. to play three more opponents in South America before returning to Milwaukee to face Japan on Sept. 12 & 14
The U.S. National Futsal team was defeated, 6-0, by Brazilian club side, UNISUL, on Sept. 1. In Brazil, UNISUL is part of the Liga Futsal, one of the professional leagues in the South American country where futsal enjoys immense popularity. The U.S. is on a four game tour of Brazil, gearing up for the FIFA Futsal World Cup which begins in Brazil later this month. Following the matches in Brazil, the U.S. will head to Milwaukee for games against Japan on Sept. 12 & 14.
Forward Jamar Beasley was injured in the second half of the game, however a post-match x-ray was negative. Though Beasley will not be available for the rest of the games on the trip in Brazil, he is likely to be fit for the games against Japan in Milwaukee.
Brazil is the host country of the 2008 FIFA Futsal World Cup, which kicks of on Sept.30. The U.S. Futsal Team has been drawn into Group B along with Italy, Portugal, Thailand and Paraguay.

CRICIÚMA, Brazil (Sept. 3, 2008) - The U.S. National Futsal team lost, 4-1, to UNESC, a Brazilian club side, on Sept. 2. Three goals in the first half proved to be enough of an advantage for UNESC, and, though the U.S. pulled a goal back through Matt Stewart in the 27th minute, the lead was insurmountable for Keith Tozer's side.
The U.S., currently on a four game tour of Brazil, is gearing up for the FIFA Futsal World Cup which begins in Brazil later this month. CRICIÚMA, Brazil (Sept. 5, 2008) - The U.S. National Futsal team lost, 2-1, to UNESC on Sept. 4. The U.S. took the lead through Pat Morris in the 17th minute, but goals from UNESC in the 22nd and 32nd minutes just shaded the game for the Brazilian club side.
The U.S. is on a four game tour of Brazil, gearing up for the FIFA Futsal World Cup which begins in Brazil later this month. Following the matches in Brazil, the U.S. will head to Milwaukee for games against Japan on Sept. 12 and 14. This is the second time the U.S. has played UNESC on this tour, having lost, 4-1, in the previous game on Sept. 2.

Futsal team to return to Milwaukee to face Japan on Sept. 12 and 14
Florianópolis, Brazil (Sept. 8, 2008) - The U.S. National Futsal team concluded its tour of Brazil with a 6-2 loss against Brazilian club side A.D. Colegial on Sept. 6. The U.S. now turns its attention towards its final tune up matches before the 2008 FIFA Futsal World Cup, including games with Japan on Sept. 12 and 14 at the Kern Center in Milwaukee.
The U.S. traveled two Brazil in late August, playing four games in the World Cup host nation as preparation for the tournament which kicks off later this month. The U.S. starts it's World Cup campaign on Sept. 30, having been drawn into Group B along with Italy, Portugal, Thailand and Paraguay.
