Keith Tozer's side to face Japan on Sunday, Sept. 14, in rematch of FIFA Futsal World Cup Qualifiers
MILWAUKEE (Sept. 13, 2008) - The U.S. National Futsal Team held off a pesky NY Ecuador FC side for a 2-1 victory on Saturday at the Kern Center in Milwaukee, Wis. Goals from Jamar Beasley and Denison Cabral proved to be the difference for the U.S. squad, which next faces Japan on Sept., 14 at 1 p.m. at the Kern Center.
Last night the U.S. played Japan to an exciting 4-4 draw, and tomorrow's rematch will put the finishing touches on the United States' domestic preparations for the FIFA Futsal World Cup.
The FIFA Futsal World Cup kicks off later this month in Brazil, where the U.S. just recently finished a training camp and series of friendlies. The U.S. starts its World Cup campaign on Sept. 30, having been drawn into Group B along with Italy, Portugal, Thailand and Paraguay. Head Coach Keith Tozer will announce his squad for the FIFA Futsal World Cup on Monday, Sept. 15.
