Cuban News AgencyCuba Loses to Italian Club in FutsalHAVANA, Cuba, Sept 18 (acn) Cuba's futsal national team lost 7-5 to Italian club Arzignano Grifo, runner-up in its league, in a game in Leonardo McKenzie Grant sport hall in eastern Las Tunas province.
This was the second game that they have played, after last Monday they tied 6-6, in this city as part of the Cuban team preparation for the coming World championships to take place in Brazil starting next September 30.
Cuba has qualified to the last 4 World championships, and this time specialists give it a 50/50 chance of making it to the second round, something they didn’t achieved in the other three editions. Cuba is in the same group as Brazil, a favourite to the title, along Russia and Japan with a similar level to Cuba’s at this moment, and Salomon Islands, which looks as the easiest to beat.
