China world cup futsal team is camping in Brazil

Chinese futsal team, coached by the Brazilian coaches, is now undergoing intensive training in the city of Belo Horizonte, the home town of the head coach Farina. Mr. Farina and his assistant coach Val helped to arrange all the training programs and facilities including inviting local futsal teams to play friendly games.

Chinese futsal team arrived in Belo Horizonte on Sept.20, and keep on training in the following days. They have registered a 2-2 tie with a local club. Chinese players were impressed with the performance of the Brazilian players and admitted that the opponents had more chances to score. The scheduled one-week training will give the Chinese better adaptation to the group games in the world cup at the end of September.

Chinese futsal has been improved with the Brazilian coaching since august 2007. After 2 months, the team ranked No. 4 in the 2nd Asian indoor games after losing a much closed game to Uzbekistan in November 2007.
In May 2008, China finally defeated the rival Uzbekistan in the Asian futsal championship in Thailand to secure the 4th place to qualify for the Brazilian World Cup. After FIFA granted 4 places to AFC, Chinese team finally comes along with the Asian futsal powerhouses Iran, Japan and Thailand. The great leap of Chinese futsal team resulted in the Australian futsal team renounced for the first time to the futsal World Cup.

China is included in group C with Guatemala, Argentina, Ukraine and Egypt.
