Game On For Dana ChristensenBy
Amberly RichardsonTuesday, September 30, 2008Dana Christensen and Mario Mrakovic also joined forces for Surf.
Dana Christensen, 16, is a producer for her SD Surf team, but it's Futsal that she's really a fanatic for. Christensen never stops working to perfect her craft. She explains why to XK San Diego Soccer News:
When did you participate and what did you think of the experience?I have been playing Futsal ever since Mario (Mrakovic) first introduced it to me, and it's by far my favorite form of soccer. Nothing compares to the feeling of playing high-speed on a hard floor, surrounded by cheering fans and never far from the action. It's just so exhilarating -- getting the sudden rush from the pure excitement. Each year I await Futsal Nationals, one of the best tournaments around, so my team and I can compete against other top teams in the country.
Do you feel that Futsal improved your game? If so, why? Futsal improves everyone's games. The sport itself is so demanding and quick paced that players must learn to adapt their speed, agility and quickness of play all at the same time. Skills are also a major component of the game, and each player who successfully completes a move is almost guaranteed to do that same move on the grass. Also, Futsal helps players learn Mario's concept of 'super-glue' much better, allowing for better control of the ball.
Quote to Note:
Futsal is one of the best games a player can do, in my opinion. To me, there is no better feeling than the first moment you get on the real court, you're done warming up and you're standing there, anticipating the start of the game, the single moment the referee will blow their whistle. After that, it's on.
