Brazil triumphs over Japan in the Group A opening match of the FIFA Futsal World Cup currently being held in Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia.
The Brazilian team thrashed Japan 12-1 in the opening-round match at the Gimnasio Nilson Nelson in Brasilia on Tuesday.
"It's a win that certainly gives us confidence, but it doesn't mean that things will be easy,'' said Falcao, who scored two goals for the Brazilian team.
In another Group A match, Cuba managed to beat the Solomon Islands 10-2.
In the two Group B openers, Italy defeated Thailand 1-0 and Paraguay won a 5-0 victory over the US.
On Wednesday, Iran will face defending champion Spain. Argentina will compete with China, and Egypt will meet Guatemala. Uruguay will play against Libya.
Twenty teams from five continents are taking part in the event (September 30 to October 19), vying for the world champion title.
