Marcelo leads Spain to victory

RIO DE JANEIRO: Midfielder Mar­celo scored two goals early in the second half to lead two-time defending champions Spain to a 4-0 win over the Czech Republic at the Futsal World Cup on Sunday.

It was Spain’s second straight after a disappointing opening draw against Iran, giving them seven points at the top of Group D. Iran have four points after beating Libya 4-2.

Also on Sunday, Argentina defender Diego Giustozzi scored a last-gasp equaliser in the team’s 2-2 draw with Ukraine in Brasilia. Argentina lead Group C with seven points, three more than Ukraine. Egypt downed China a 6-2 in another match. - AP
