Solomon Star NewsSolomon FutsalThursday, 16 October 2008DEAR EDITOR – I’d like to congratulate the young, Solomon Futsal team to the World Cup in Brazil.
I watched all your games. Despite losing particularly heavily to Russia and Brazil, you kept playing hard and clean, and are good role models to other young people at home.
You matched Japan and Cuba. You’ll beat them the next time you meet them! You have made it to the Futsal World Cup, the highest competition in Futsal where the best in the world come to compete. May it not be our last as well.
If these boys keep on going and their average age matures, they’ll be difficult to beat in Oceania. In Oceania, your technical ability is very high indeed. At the world stage, I’m sure when these boys mature to an average of 22 years old, they’ll be very difficult to topple.
At an average age of 18, you were the youngest team on display in Brazil, and you don’t have anything to lose.
Just being at Brazil World Cup is simply an achievement for you and the country. Keep on sticking to Futsal boys and I look forward to seeing you play again in the next world cup.
