Futsal is coming to the brand new Forekicks 2 indoor sports complex located at 219 Forest Street in Marlboro, Massachusetts! The sport made popular by the likes of soccer phenoms Pele, Ronaldo & Ronaldinho who grew up playing FIFA's only approved form of indoor soccer, will be played at Forkicks 2 starting in November 2008.

New England Futsal in collaboration with Forekicks 2 will offer 3 different futsal programs at Forekicks 2. "The sport is growing exponentially, in our area of the country", says Bill Sampaio, President of New England Futsal. "Players are improving their foot skills, their ball control, their passing skills and are developing quick thinking on the pitch, all because of this small sided indoor game. This past summer New England area futsal teams returned home from the 2008 US Futsal National Championships held in Baltimroe Maryland with 9 medals, comprised of 2 National Champiosnhip teams, 4 Silver Medalist teams and 3 Bronze Medalist teams. Little by little the general population is coming to understand the immense opportunity that futsal creates for our soccer players and its exciting to be a small part of the progress this generation of players is making here in the United States."

Bill Sampaio of Tiverton, RI, oversees several futsal programs based in New England and is the National Director of Coaching for US Futsal, a position he has held since 2004. "We have emerged as the top provider for futsal training and competitions in New England, it's only natural that we ally with Forekicks 2 as the premier indoor sports facility operators in Massachusetts to offer the best that we can for futsal enthusiasts young and old", adds Sampaio. "This is a wonderful opportunity for players to compete and train in world class facilities, right here in Massachusetts".

The collaboration between Forekicks 2 and New England Futsal will begin with 3 separate programs this year. We will offer academy training on Monday nights, a men's open tournament on Sunday mornings and a youth league on Sunday afternoons.

Starting in November we will have an exciting New England Futsal Academy program start for players from the age of U6 through U14 on Monday nights. Training will be directed by Bill Sampaio and his staff starting with the young group of players U6 - U9 at 5:30, then U10-U11 players at 6:30 and wrap things up with U12-U14 players at 7:30 PM. This a very popular program run in central and southeast Massachusetts and is expected to fill up rather quickly at Forekicks 2 as well.

The United Futsal League's Copa Latina Men's Tournament will be run at Forekicks 2 starting Sunday November 23, 2008. This men's open tournament was extremely successful last year and will run the same format this year with prizes and awards. This tournament is designed for 16 mens teams. Teams from last year's Copa Latina progressed to the US Futsal Mass State Cup, Northeast - Mid-Atlantic Regionals and the National Championships that were held in Baltimore Maryland, and several players were invited to play at various colleges after college scouts saw the talent level of this pool of players.

To round out the futsal programs being offered at Forekicks 2, in January, New England Futsal will host a youth league that will begin games in the Suffolk County Futsal League on January 4, 2009 and run for 9 weeks, ending in March before the outdoor league play kicks off. Teams will be broken down into two divisions of play and the top four teams in each age category shall advance to the playoffs.
