The FA.comJoin the Futsal LeagueThursday, 30 October 2008The FA Futsal Regional Leagues will be starting again later this year and teams from all across the country are invited to submit their application for a place in the competition.
In order for the game of Futsal to progress in England it was necessary to offer the stronger teams the chance to play in a competitive league structure and create a ‘show case’ which has allowed the game to be presented at a higher level than had previously been the case.
The FA in 2007-08 introduced a structure of three quality Regional Leagues – South, Midlands and North – known collectively as The FA Futsal Regional Leagues. The top two teams from each of these Leagues progressed to National Play-off Finals and the overall winners - Helvecia - will also become The FA’s representative in the UEFA Futsal Club competition in 2009.
The FA are seeking to run the three Regional Leagues once again in 2009 for the period of February to September. The season will once again culminate in the National Play-Off Finals.
