FAIEmerald Futsal league Kicks OffTuesday, 04 November 2008Sunday 2nd November saw the start of the newly formed Emerald Futsal League with 3 very exiting games played in the new Ballyfermot Leisure Centre. The League was set up as a partnership project of 4 organisations: Futsal Association of Ireland, Sport Against Racism Ireland, Dublin City Council and Futsal Ireland.
The results were as follows:
Polish Eagles 4 Futsamba 4In the first game of the day Polish Eagles and Futsamba produced a quality game with the Eagles starting better and going into 2 goal lead in the first 5 minutes. However, Futsamba responded well and their determination produced two late goals resulting in a well earned point.
Perestroika 7 English in Dublin 5The second game had everything, goals, penalties and even (unfortunately) red cards. It started very well for Perestroika who lead at a time 6 -1 in second half but a strong come back from English in Dublin brought the game to a nervy end with players sent off from each team and two 10m penalties missed by English in Dublin.
Brasilforall 9 Dublin Futsal 1In the “newcomers” game Brasillforall totally dominated the game and proved to be too strong for Dublin Futsal team.
