This indoor five-a-side event is organised by the E.D.S.O. (European Deaf Sports Organisation), and was originally scheduled for Hafia, Israel. But the political unrest in that country has forced the E.D.S.O. to seek elsewhere. Sofia, Bulgaria has met the E.D.S.O.'s requirements and will be the venue for the 1st European Indoor Futsal Championships for the Deaf.
